Dinh Tien Hoang was a
Vietnamese King from 968 to 979 after having solved the divisions and conflicts
between 12 regions.
Ngo Quyen was a great hero
and then-King who recovered independence for Vietnam in 938 from
nearly-1000-year Chinese colonization.
Dinh Le was a founding
official of early-Le dynasty in the 15th century and an important
general in the fight against the Chinese invaders at the time.
Le Thach was a well-known
general in Lam Son insurrection against the Chinese invasion in the 15th
century.
Le Lai was an important
general in Lam Son insurrection and a close associate of Le Loi, then-King Le
Thai To. Le Lai sacrificed himself to save Le Loi in a fierce siege by the
Chinese invaders.
